Timex® Named Official Watch of 110-Mile GORE-TEX™ TransRockies Run
America’s leading sports watch continues to support the world’s toughest athletes

MIDDLEBURY, CT, August 16, 2007 – Athletes entering the GORE-TEX™ TransRockies Run September 16-20, 2007 will see a familiar name and logo throughout their trek, as Timex today became the race’s official watch.

As official watch sponsor, Timex will provide timepieces from its famed Timex Expedition line that will be given away as awards following the conclusion of the run. In addition, the Timex logo will adorn the race’s start and finish line banners, and will be prevalent at all banquets.

“The Trans-Rockies run attracts some of the world’s most passionate and dedicated outdoor sportsmen, a community Timex understands and cares about,” said Dan McKee, Brand Director, Outdoor Products for Timex. “We’re proud to continue our tradition of serving outdoor sports enthusiasts by producing the tools they need to live their passion.”

Timex created the Timex Expedition line 1994, designed specifically to meet the design and functional needs of outdoor-inspired athletes. Since that time, Timex has become the leader in outdoor-inspired watches. In addition, Timex partners with the field’s elite athletes and events, helping to create platforms that allow each to showcase their talent, hard work and determination.

The GORE-TEX™ TransRockies Run is a grueling race through the Colorado Rockies as trail runners make their way over the 110-mile course that ascends 25,000 vertical feet from start to finish.

Competitors, in teams of two, begin their 110-mile journey in Beaver Creek, Colorado and compete in one of five stages each day as they make their way to the finish line in Aspen, Colorado. The field is limited to 300 teams in four categories: Men, Women, Mixed and Masters, with a total purse of $20,000 to be awarded as prizes.
